Dark, dirty warehouse. Sweaty, euphoric bodies. Feel the vibes of love.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Men's Casual Jackets
  • Men's Casual Tops
  • Men's Dress Shoes
  • Men's Jeans
  • Men's Khakis
  • Mens' Sweaters
  • Cologne
  1. Step 1

Leave your hair mangy and unkempt, or try holding it back with a thin hairband or hiding it under a round, canvas hat. Or set your hair in spikes with liberal dollops of gel.

  2. Step 2

Wind plastic beads around your wrists and neck.

  3. Step 3

Choose soft fabrics like corduroy and felt.

  4. Step 4

Keep tops minimalist: Dance bare-chested or in a tank top. Or pick T-shirts you won't mind getting sweaty, in loud colors like orange, purple or yellow.

  5. Step 5

Wear roomy and oversized pants, the better to move around in, jump and show off your footwork.

  6. Step 6

Don very comfortable shoes so that you can dance from late night to early morning.

Tips & Warnings
  • Everything you wear will smell and drip with sweat. Dress accordingly.

on 3/5/2009 PLUR - A smart backpack is a must for at least one member of your group. Glow sticks, teddy bear, hoodie, crazy hats are all things that can make your rave experience more enjoyable. Throw in an extra bottle of water or maybe glitter lip stick.

on 11/6/2008 cargo pants are good. they are loose and have enclosed pockets to hold your cell phone, car keys, and wallet. as far as originality, find colors, patterns, and accessories that fit your personality. don't dress like a candy kid to "fit in." I generally prefer to were darker shades of purple w/ neon green.

on 8/8/2006 I've been rav'n since 1993, please, ravers are not drug addicts. It's all about the music, not the drugs. You go to raves to dance, not sit on the floor and feel each other up. We need to bring that vibe back for real. Peace.

on 11/22/2005 A great way to help prevent split ends is to wrap all of your hair around your head! I know it sounds silly but, part your hair into 4 neat sections (make a center part, then an ear-to-ear part) and starting with one of the back sections, comb your hair from roots to ends with a wide tooth comb all the way to the next section and pin it in place. Continue wrapping all sections until all your hair is pinned down. Use a large, clean scarf and tie your hair down carefully, but not tight, remove the pins used to secure your hair. Lastly, smooth the hair that you may have missed and tie the scarf securely.

This method will take some practice but after just a few tries, it will be so easy and can save you styling time in the morning.

Note: If you have really long hair, this might be a task but it's worth it! Also, don't use bobby pins, they'll hold your hair too tight. Use metal alligator clips. You will see the difference.

on 11/22/2005 Wear what you want. A rave is one of the few places on earth where no one will judge you based on what you wear. I find that the most comfortable thing to wear is what many of the people have said already. Make your clothing tight on top and baggy on the bottom. Wear comfortable shoes. Carry a sweatband or bandana and maybe even a towel or washcloth. Bring lots of water. If the rave is buy only, carry cash to buy the water. The reason some ravers buy pacifiers is that they'll often take ecstacy, which sometimes makes one's teeth involuntarily clench and grind. The pacifier softens the bite a little bit. To have the energy to dance, I would advise the newbie to drink a few energy drinks (such as Jolt, Krank'd, Red Bull, or Amp). Lastly, always carry a good attitude. People are at raves to have a good time.
