With MediaFire downloaded onto your Nook you can listen to music while you read.

The Nook, produced by Barnes & Noble, is an electronic book reader designed primarily for downloading and reading books from the Internet. Despite its main function as an electronic reader, there is a wireless port on the Nook that allows you to connect directly to the Internet, as well as a USB cable input to attach to your computer. MediaFire is a free file sharing and image hosting website with music available for download.

      Log onto MediaFire.com and browse its catalog until you locate an MP3 album that you want to download. Click on the download link of the album and save the file to your desktop or another folder on your computer that is easy to locate.

      Plug your Nook into your computer with a USB cable. Select "Finder" on your Macintosh or "My Computer" on your PC to display a list of drives, one of which will be your Nook.

      Double-click on the Nook icon in your "My Computer" or "Finder" section. This will open to reveal a series of folders, one of which will be labeled "My Music." Drag and drop the downloaded files from MediaFire into your "My Music" folder. Once the files have finished copying to your Nook, eject the Nook and remove it from the USB cable.

Tips & Warnings

  • Nooks will only play MP3 files. As a result, WAV, M4A and other high quality files from your computer must be converted prior to playing them on your Nook.
