How to Hook Up a Modem to a Structured Media Box
A Structured Media panel or box is a cabling panel used to route telephone, DSL, broadband Internet and cable television into a home or office. The cable connections in the box can be used to connect your PC to the Internet with a modem. All you need to hook it up is two category five Ethernet cords.

Plug one end of a CAT 5e Ethernet cord into the WAN port on the Structured Media box.

Plug the other end of the CAT 5e Ethernet cord into the Ethernet port on the modem.

Plug one end of another Ethernet cord into the PC's Ethernet port and the second end into the second Ethernet port on the modem. Open a Web browser. Type "http://DDC" without quotes and press "Enter" to open the Network Media Manager app on the Structured Media box. When requested, type "admin" for user name, and "admin" for password (again without quotes). The router will register on the screen and display the IP address, netmask and gateway addresses. Go to the System tab and change the user name and password to protect your Internet connection.
