How to Repair the XML Layer for Mozilla Firefox
If you've accidentally deleted files or have an outdated XML player, you receive errors in the Firefox software. You must troubleshoot and repair the XML player using the tools available in Firefox. Most of the problems with plugins are caused by caching issues or you just need to download the latest version of the plugin after upgrading Firefox.

Open the Firefox software on your desktop. Click the "Tools" menu item and click "Options." Click the "Advanced" tab. Click the "Network" option and click the "Clear Now" next to the "Cache" option. This clears the cache. Reboot the Firefox software.

Open another Firefox tab and navigate to the Mozilla Firefox plugin check page. This page checks Firefox for updates for the XML player software. Click "Update" to update to the latest version compatible with your Firefox version.

Re-initialize the plugin database. Some hanging or crashing issues occur, because the back-end database crashed. Click the "Windows" menu item and click "Help." Click "Open Containing Folder" in the "Application Basics" section. Delete the "pluginreg.dat" file and reboot Firefox to re-initialize the database.

Reboot the computer. In some cases, the Firefox software is frozen, so you must reboot the computer to fix a problem with the XML player. Reboot the computer and re-open Firefox and the XML player.
