How to Find Out If an Anonymous Email Address Has Been Used Anywhere Else

Anonymous email addresses are easy to create, because plenty of websites allow you to create a new email address for free. If you receive a comment or message from a particular email address, it helps to search for the address to find out if it is a common scam email address or one associated with spam. You can use Google to find out if an anonymous email address has been used anywhere else.

Instructions

1. Open a Web browser and navigate to Google's home page.

2. Copy and paste the email address in the search text box using the quotes around the email address. The quotes eliminate similar textual content that is not what you need to find the address. For instance, if you want to find [e-mail], type "[e-mail]" with the quotes.

3. Press "Enter" to perform the search. If the email address is associated with any spam or scam issues, complaints display in the results.

4. Read each result to view the complaint, if any are found in the search results.
