How to Decorate Flip-Flops With Jewels and Flowers

Things You'll Need

• Rubber flip-flops
• Silk or felt flowers
• Plastic jewels
• Hot glue gun
• Glue sticks
• Newspaper

Instructions

1. Heat the glue gun. The glue works better when it is hot, so allow it to heat while you prepare the rest of your materials. Place a piece of paper or cardboard under it to stabilize the gun and catch any drips.

2. Lay newspaper over your work space. This will prevent damage to counter tops or furniture if hot glue leaks. An old plastic tablecloth is another option.

3. Wash your flip-flops with a damp cloth. Remove any dust, leaves or other debris. A dirty pair may make it difficult to adhere the flowers and jewels.

4. Apply hot glue to the backs of the flowers and jewels. Remove any stems, which make it harder for the flowers to stay in place. Glue the embellishments where desired on the strap of your flip-flops. Try clustering several small flowers together to glue on, or one large one with a jewel in the center. Hold in place for several seconds until the glue sets. Allow the glue to dry completely before wearing the flip-flops.
