How to Make a Laceration With Makeup
Scary Halloween costumes require blood and gore, and especially lacerations. Scare your friends and trick-or-treaters by having an oozing bloody cut on your arm, chest or face. Making your own fake laceration can be a fun process, using only a few items from your cabinet and a trip to the Halloween aisle in your favorite super center.

1
Clean the area of skin with a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol.
-
2
Use a black eyeliner pencil to make a mark where you want the laceration to be.
-
-
3
Dampen your fingers and apply a small amount of scar wax to the marked area. Pull it gently outward to smooth and flatten the sides and blend in with the skin. The center will be raised slightly.
-
4
Use a foundation matching your skin tone to blend the wax into your skin. Apply the foundation to the edges of the wax and smudge outward.
-
5
Run the rounded end of a bobby pin through the center of the wax to create the laceration opening. Fill in the opening with a black eyeliner pencil or black face paint.
-
6
Use an eye shadow brush to blend red and brown eye shadows together, then apply the shadow to the edges of the wax. Use small amounts to give it a faded look. Blend thoroughly so there are no harsh lines.
-
7
Brush on a small amount of fake blood inside the laceration where you made the opening. Use a small lip pencil or paint brush. Add small drops of blood around the outside for a bloody look.
