How to Naturally & Gently Cleanse the Skin

Natural and gentle cleansing methods keep your skin healthy. Standard household products are available to get your organic cleansing routine up and running. Chemical-based products can burn and dry the skin, or result in adverse reactions that cause damage. Practicing natural and gentle cleaning on a daily basis, for as little as 10 to 15 minutes at a time, helps you relax and replenishes your skin with vital nutrients.

Things You'll Need

  • Soft cotton face towels
  • 4 ounce bottle with lid
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • Organic face soap

Instructions

      Purchase organic soap at your local organic or bath supply store. Wash your hands with the soap, and dry with a soft cotton face towel.

      Remove the lid from a clean 4 ounce bottle. Fill the bottle with 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil and 1 tablespoon of sea salt. Secure the lid. Shake the contents for 15 seconds for a thorough mix.

      Dampen a clean face towel with very hot water -- almost too hot to touch. Rub 1/2 teaspoon of the oil mix into your fingers and palms. Rub the oil into your face. The combination of extra virgin olive oil and sea salt removes grime, exfoliates skin and revitalizes your skin's smooth and soft qualities. Place the hot towel over your face for 10 minutes to steam your skin.

      Wash the oil mix from your face with organic face soap.
