The luxury of satin makes it a frequent choice for special-occasion dresses. However, it wrinkles and creases very easily. Read the care instructions on the garment tag carefully and follow them.

Steam the garment by hanging it in a bathroom with the door closed while running a hot shower. You can also use a clothes steamer if you have one.

Iron the dress. Use a low setting and place a handkerchief or other cloth between the dress and the iron. Before ironing the satin, be sure to test the fabric by ironing a small portion in an inconspicuous spot.
