- Sunscreen
- Athletic Gear
- Flying Disc Games
- Flying Discs
-
Step 1
Look for a disc that weighs between 165 and 180 grams. Discs that weigh less than 165 grams just can't handle the amount of spin put on them during a game of ultimate.
-
Step 2
Choose a color. Flying discs come in numerous colors, so you should be able to find one the recipient will like.
-
Step 3
Check out a sporting goods store. Most will have a variety of discs to choose from. There are stores that specialize in flying discs, but they're not that common.
-
Step 4
Pick a unique disc. A disc that stands out from the others makes it easier to keep track of. For example, multicolored discs are less common than white discs.

on 11/22/2005 Note that although colored discs are fun, white disks are easier to use and are the only ones allowed as official game discs.

on 11/22/2005 The only disc accepted by the UPA (the governing body of the sport in the United States) is Discraft's Ultra-Star. If you are giving the gift to a serious player this is the only acceptable disc. Plus, while colored discs are nice, they're not good for game play at all.

on 11/22/2005 I am an avid motorcycle rider and cyclist. I ride more at night than during the heat of the day. I use tape from Streetglo on my motorcycle, my bicycle, my kids bicycle and even on my boat.
Reflective tape is not formulated the same as ordinary vinyl strips. It is more rigid and it does not stretch or apply the same as ordinary vinyl tape. I use a solution of 8 ounces of water and about 12 drops of dishwashing liquid as a mixture to spray on the motorcycle, bicycle or other object first. Then I apply the reflective tape using the solution to allow easy repositioning. Once I have it in place, i use a rubber spatula or my finger to push it down and into place.
For motorcycles, I use similar color reflective tape on the frame and other places that are easily seen by a motorist. The same for a bicycle. However for decorative effect, I also use complementary high contrast colors on places such as the fenders, saddle bags, etc.
