Pluck grey hairs on your head and eyebrows.

Gray hair is inevitable. Some people notice it in the teenage years while others become a senior citizen before gray hair sprouts. Hair does not turn gray; instead melanocytes stop producing the pigment that determines your hair color. The result of this is that the hair becomes transparent and gives the illusion of gray hair. Following a few simple steps, you can eliminate strands of 'gray' hair as each appears. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Take a shower. Wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo and rinse. Squeeze a dollop of conditioner into your palm. Massage the conditioner through your hair and let sit for two minutes. Rise the conditioner with warm water. Towel dry.

    • 2

Comb your hair. Pay close attention to the area where gray hair is appearing. Separate the hair using a comb so that the gray hair is isolated.

    • 3

Put your fingers on your scalp and gently stretch the skin around the gray hair. Pull the gray strand gently with your opposite hand between your thumb and index finger to dislodge it from the other hair. Pick up the tweezers with your writing hand.

    • 4

Grip the gray hair close to the scalp with the tweezers. Check to see that the hair is in the center of the tweezers so it does not slip out when plucking. Place the tweezers as close to the root as possible so that it takes longer for the hair to grow back. Squeeze the tweezers together and pull evenly. Make sure you plucked the whole strand. If not, go in closer and get the root.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure the tips of your tweezers line up properly. If your gray hair is bothersome, talk to your doctor about drugs said to help gray-hair sufferers.

  • Do not worry about more gray hair appearing where you have plucked. Only one hair can grow through each follicle. Plucking gray hair can lead to ingrown hairs or infection. Consult your dermatologist before plucking gray hair out of a mole. Pluck one hair at a time. Grabbing multiple gray hairs could cause you to pluck regular hair.
