How to Make a Baby-Wearing Wrap From a Sheet
Creating a baby-wearing wrap from a sheet means the difference between spending money on a store-bought, baby-carrying item and using a resource within your own home. Baby-wearing is a parental decision to hold a baby on the body in a sling or wrap-style carrier, making tasks easier for parents to complete while providing pacification for the baby. Cotton sheets offer a strong and durable material that knots well and grips the weight of the baby.
Instructions

1
Fold the sheet in half lengthwise.
-
2
Pull the short end of a sheet over one shoulder so that the material stops at your waistline in the front of your body.
-
-
3
Bring the long end of the sheet around your back and under the opposite arm that the short end is draping over.
-
4
Pull the short end of the sheet outward with the hand of the arm that it is draped over.
-
5
Pull the long end of the sheet over the short end of the sheet that you are holding outward, using your other hand.
-
6
Wrap the long end underneath the short end and pull the long end upward to create a slip knot.
-
7
Cross the long end of the sheet under the short end and pull it upward through the hole created by the crossing of the two ends. This makes a double knot.
-
8
Pull both sheet ends downward and diagonally away from each other to tighten the sling.
-
9
Widen the sheet material on your shoulder until comfortable.
-
10
Place the baby's bottom in the pocket so that the baby is facing you and resting on your midsection.
