1
Comb through your hair to detangle it. Add a quarter-size dollop of styling gel to the palm of one hand and apply it to your hair. Work the gel through from roots to ends. The styling gel will help your hair hold the curly style.
-
2
Divide your hair in half down the back of your head, and pull each half around to the front to separate the halves.
-
-
3
Separate a 1-inch section of hair in the left section of hair and curl it with the hot curling iron. Wind the hair around the barrel of the curling iron, hold the hair there for about 30 seconds and release it carefully. Allow the curled hair to cool without disturbing it.
-
4
Repeat the same process to curl all of the hair in the left section, then the hair in the right section. Allow the curls to cool.
-
5
Spray the curls lightly with hair spray to set them, then finger comb them gently to blend the curls.
-
6
Gather the hair in the left section into a pigtail immediately under your left ear. Check the rear view of the hair as you pull it into the pigtail to ensure the hair looks smooth and neat. Secure the pigtail tightly with an elastic band.
-
7
Repeat the same process with the hair in the right section. Check the pigtails from all angles to ensure they look neat and symmetrical.
-
8
Spray your hair lightly with hair spray to tame flyaways and make it smooth.
-
9
Add bows or embellishments over the elastic bands if you wish.
