How to Schedule a Set Time for an eBay Auction to Begin
Selling items on eBay offers a lot of convenience: by going through the eBay seller listing process, you get full control over how your items appear, are described and how they make their way to the buyers. EBay has default settings for its item listings, including a setting to make newly listed items appear on the site immediately. Adjust a few settings to schedule a set time for a listing, coordinating it with your schedule and availability.

Log in to your eBay seller account. Click the "Sell" link near the top right corner of the homepage.

Click the "List Your Item" button. Type a short description under the "What do you want to sell today" section and click the "Search" button.

Click one of the suggested check boxes to categorize your auction, then click the "Continue" button. If a multiple listing popup window appears, click the "No" radio button and click "Continue."

Create your listing by stepping through the setup page, which includes entering a title, condition and specifics such as clothing style or book ISBN number. Upload a picture, if desired -- it's free to upload one picture, and it may help garner more attention to your item.

Type a description of the item, then type the Buy It Now Price or the auction starting price.

Click the "Schedule start time" radio button, located under the "Quantity" subcategory. Note that this adds an extra 10 cents to the auction listing fee; starting it immediately upon entry into the eBay system is free. Use the drop-down menus to schedule your auction start time. Note that the start time is in Pacific standard time.

Follow through with the rest of the auction listing process, including choosing a payment preference and letting sellers know how you'll ship the item. Determine any buyer requirements or exclusions, such as refusing to sell to buyers with negative feedback. Click the "Continue" button.

Review your listing, especially the item start time as you scheduled it. Click "List My Item" to schedule your item for listing at the requested time.
