How to Install RHEL5 Packages From the DVD
While you can install Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 downloading from the Internet as you go, if you plan to install the operating system to multiple computers, you can use the DVD installer to save time. The DVD installer contains a selection of packages that the minimal online installer would download as the setup began. With the DVD version of RHEL 5, you can choose the packages you want to install from the DVD during installation.

Start the Red Hat Enterprise Linux installation as if you were performing a normal installation.

Complete the installation as usual until you read the "Package Group Selection" screen. This will show two default packages to install.

Click "Customize now," and then click "Next."

Browse through the packages to install from the DVD. Click the checkboxes for each one and then click "Next."

Complete the rest of the setup as you would otherwise.
