How to Remove a BBB Complaint

How to Remove a BBB Complaint thumbnail
The BBB has message boards that allow consumers to post complaints.

The Better Business Bureau, also known as the BBB, is a consumer protection agency comprised of local chapters around the country that help consumers and businesses with filing complaints and mediation. Consumers who face problems or difficulties may contact the BBB to file a complaint, which may or may not be in conjunction with taking legal action against a particular business. However, many people may be interested in removing complaints made against particular companies, particularly if they privately resolve the dispute with the company.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the Better Business Bureau website. The site has a link to local BBB offices. Click on the "Find BBB" link.

    • 2

Type in the city and state or the zip code of where the complaint was filed. Click "Enter." You will be directed to the specific contact information for the agency handling the complaint.

    • 3

Call, fax or write the contact agency with your name and your original complaint. Include an explanation for revoking your complaint and ask that the complaint be dropped.
