    • Dryer Belt Replacement

Disconnect the power or unplug the dryer. Lift the lint vent on top of the dryer and unscrew the two screws either side, lifting out the lint filter. Place the vent and the two screws somewhere safe. Raise the dryer top and unhook the door switch harness on the right. Remove the front panel which is held in place by a screw either side of the inside of the panel. Place the two screws in a safe place. Place the new dryer belt around the drum with the grooves towards the drum surface at the black line. Place a block of wood or a cardboard box under the dryer drum to avoid having to juggle the drum and the belt simultaneously or simply have a helper hold the drum steady.

Route the new belt through the idler pulley bracket and around the motor pulley (see diagram). Remove cardboard box or wood block from under the dryer drum. Reassemble the front panel to the dryer ensuring the drum fits in correctly. Hook up the door switch harness making sure it is not touching the drum.

    • Place a small screwdriver or putty knife under the seal at the back of the drum making certain is it on top of the bulkhead. Ensure the rubber seal is not caught rubbing against the back of the dryer--this would be an extreme fire hazard. Double-check this seal as a precaution. Replace the top of the dryer and the lint filter and screws. Turn the drum one full turn counterclockwise from inside the dryer, making sure the entire rear drum seal is riding on top of the ridge on the bulkhead and not turned under where it would rub. Plug in your dryer and test.
