What Are Anchor Rivets?
An anchor rivet is a blind fastener for use in multiple applications. A blind fastener attaches objects without needing access to both sides of the faster, so it its ideal for applications in which screws or bolts would be ineffective.

Operation
-
Many anchor bolts operate by impact. The user drills a hole to accommodate the rivet's sleeve, then impacts a pin that extends outward. The rivet sleeve expands as the pin pushes into it.
Uses
-
Rivet anchors can hang or mount items in various materials. Some anchors are designed for concrete, while others are suitable for different hollow or solid materials, such as metal, plastic tile and other materials.
-
Construction
-
Anchor rivet bodies are made from a flexible material, such as nylon or plastic. The pin that expands the sleeve is made from a hard metal, often steel.
