Eligibility
-
People who receive some form of public assistance may automatically qualify for Medi-Cal. California residents enrolled in either of the CalWorks programs, such as Aid For Dependent Children (AFDC) or the Temporary Assistance For Needy Family (TANF), should already meet eligibility criteria. Senior or elderly citizens, disabled people and pregnant women may be eligible for Medi-Cal as well.
Medi-Cal Application
-
Those with Internet access may obtain a Medi-Cal application online. You can apply directly at any one of the county offices--there are more than 20 locations statewide. Visit the state of California's Medi-Cal "Find Out If I Qualify" website to download a form. Click on the "Medi-Cal Application" link, then choose "View" under the Application column header. The site also has a listing of offices addresses at the "Apply at the Nearest County Office" link.
