Sony TX7 Vs. Sony WX1

The TX7 and WX1 are both point-and-shoot digital cameras produced by Sony. Both cameras feature 10-megapixel sensors and a maximum ISO of 3200. Several differences, however, may affect your decision when choosing between the two cameras.

  1. LCD Display

    • The TX7 has a 3.5-inch LCD touch screen, whereas the WX1 has a smaller 2.7-inch nontouch screen.

    Lens

    • The WX1 has a telescoping lens that protrudes from the camera. The TX7, however, is an ultra-compact camera for which the lens is entirely internal to the body of the camera.

    Zoom

    • The WX1 has a 5x optical zoom capability. The TX7 is just slightly behind at 4x optical zoom. This means the WX1 can zoom slightly closer to your subject.

    TransferJet

    • The TX7, unlike the WX1, features a technology called TransferJet. This technology allows you to wirelessly transfer picture files from the camera to a TransferJet-capable computer. If you want to use this feature, a TransferJet-capable memory card is also required.

    HD Video

    • The TX7 records high-definition video up to 1080i. The WX1 also records HD video but at 720p instead.

    Supported Memory

    • The TX7 can support Memory Stick Pro Duo cards and SD/SDHC cards, whereas the WX1 only supports Memory Stick Pro Duo.
