Route 66 Extended Warranty Protection is an automobile service agreement that helps defray the cost of mechanical problems. This warranty service is presented as an alternative to that found in car dealerships.

The Warranty

  • After entering the contract agreement, you may chose any facility to repair a mechanical problem. Present your service agreement to the service professional who will call Route 66's claims department. The warranty covers parts, labor and roadside assistance; the customer pays for fluids, sales tax and filters.

  • According to the Better Business Bureau, the Route 66 Extended Warranty is offered by the Auto Services Company, Inc., based in Mountain Home, Arkansas. This company has met BBB standards of business since 1987 and, as of 2010, has an A- rating on a scale of A+ to F.

Road History

  • U.S. Route 66 was a highway which ran from Chicago, Illinois, to Los Angeles, California. Established in 1926 and known as the "Mother Road" or "Main Street of America," Route 66 was the first semi-transcontinental highway in the United States.
