How to Compare Notebook Processors
An important component of a notebook computer is its processor. Although many fast and fancy processors are on the market, you may not need all the bells and whistles. Choose the computer's processor based on the tasks for which you will use the computer.

Significance
-
Compare processor speeds. The speed of the processor will determine how easily you will be able to multitask and how easily you will be able to open programs on your notebook. If you need to do a lot of research for school or work projects, the ability to easily multitask will be an important feature.
Types
-
Discover processor types. As of 2010, single, dual and quad-core processors are available. The more “cores” a processor has, the easier it will be to multitask. These cores can work together to share the load. If you are using a notebook for word processing, a single core processor will be sufficient. If you will be using the notebook for advanced projects or gaming, you will need a dual or quad core.

Considerations
-
Determine how much memory is in each notebook. The memory in a notebook will determine how many files, pictures and videos it will be able to store. The more memory you have, the more data you can store. Memory also will help the programs on the machine run more efficiently.
