MOS 2007 Exams

As of 2010, the six exams available for the MOS 2007 certification cover Vista for business workers and the 2007 versions of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access.
Certification Levels
-
Candidates must pass any one of six exams to earn an MOS 2007 certification. An MOS Master certification requires a passing score on exams covering the 2007 versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Exam Preparation
-
In the "Microsoft Certified Application Specialist Study Guide," Joyce Cox and Joan Preppernau recommend that test-takers have at least six months of hands-on experience in Office 2007 applications. The certification exams cover practical, rather than theoretical, knowledge, and candidates may have to adjust certain program settings or perform specific functions with files provided during the exam.
Potential test-takers should practice creating and customizing documents, formatting and manipulating data, and organizing and reviewing documents, as well as sharing, collaborating and securing content. The Microsoft Learning website (see Resources) provides links to official study guides and training opportunities.
