Clavamox is a mix of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid and aids in eliminating skin and soft-tissue infections, such as abscesses, wounds, cellulitis, dermatitis and urinary-tract infections (UTI). Liquid Clavamox can also be used to treat other bacterial infections, such as feline colds. This medicine is used in cats and dogs alike.

The recommended dosage for cats is 6.25 mg per pound of body weight, twice a day. Do not stop administering the medicine before the recommended time period is complete; this may cause the infection to last longer and possibly worsen. In addition, Clavamox should be kept in a cool, dry area where the temperature exceeds 77 degrees F.
