Nintendo Wii Facts

The Nintendo Wii is a game system that is primarily controlled by the actions of the player. The Wii games are controlled by the player using the controller that has a motion sensor built into it. The Nintendo Wii was released in December, 2006.

    • The Nintendo Wii is the fifth gaming system created by the Nintendo Corporation. Wii is the first of its kind to implement virtual interaction with the games.

    Compatible with the Nintendo GameCube

    • GameCube games are compatible with the Wii console. Any GameCube game played on the Wii can only be played with the Wii controller. GameCube controllers are not compatible with the Wii.

    Online Connectivity

    • The Wii can be connected online as long as the user has wireless or high speed capabilities at home.

    Downloadable Classic Games

    • Classic games such as Mario Brothers, Contra and Legend of Zelda are available for download to the Wii console.

    Parental Controls

    • Parents can block games for children if it is deemed unsuitable. Parental controls are PIN-protected by the parents.
