Benefits of Cold Air Intake

Factory car engines have stock air intake systems. These systems use a paper air filter and intake tube that are based on keeping the engine quiet. Replacing the stock air intake system with a cold air intake system makes the engine slightly louder. However, doing so has numerous benefits.

    Longer Engine Block Life

  1. When the engine runs at a cooler temperature, it has a longer life span. This means benefit also extends to engine components, including the radiator.
  2. Faster Throttle Response

  3. When you press the gas pedal from a complete stop, a stock air intake sends warm air into the combustion chamber, which produces a slow response from the engine. However, if you have a cold air intake, the air that enters the chamber is cooler. This enables the engine respond faster than with a stock intake.
  4. Increased Horsepower

  5. Because cold air is more conducive to fuel burning, your engine's horsepower will be increased as soon as the cold air intake is installed.
  6. Better Gas Mileage

  7. Cold air intake systems provide a better air to fuel ratio in the gas lines. This equates to better gas mileage because the mixture is burned more efficiently.
  8. Save Money on Filters

  9. The air filter on a cold air intake can be washed and reused if it is re-oiled properly after washing it. This saves money because you aren't replacing the filter every 15,000 miles, like you have to with a paper filter.
