For years, the auction site eBay had a corner on the market, with little competition. As eBay has grown in popularity, alternative online auction sites are popping up all over the Internet. None have seen the degree of success that eBay has, but over time, as disgruntled eBay sellers and buyers unhappy with PayPal (eBay's preferred payment method) continue to pursue alternatives, eBay may take a backseat.

The auction giant eBay wants out of having the online auction as its business core, look at the Feb 10, 2011 article in Fox Business. This is why so many sellers are unhappy with eBay. Even if yoou are happy with eBay there is a reason to use an eBay alternative. EBay has a huge list of items that are perfectly legal to own and sell, but they do not allow on thir site.
