Definitions of eFax?
eFax is an online web service that allows you to send and receive faxes by email. Through this service, a fax machine can be used to send a document directly to an email address. Users can also send and receive a fax document from an email address without physically using a fax machine. eFax charges a fee to use its service.

Subscription

eFax activation fee is $10. You can sign up for a monthly fee of $16.95, receive 130 faxes free each month and send 30 free faxes each month; thereafter pay 10 cents a page to send faxes. With an eFax annual subscription, the fee is $169.50 and allows you to receive 200 free faxes each month and pay 10 cents a page to send a fax. Once you sign up for an eFax account, you are given a personal eFax telephone number. (All prices are as of June 2010.)

A person receives an eFax document as an email attachment that can be viewed from a computer or cell phone with Internet access. eFax documents can be saved for up to two years with an eFax account.

eFax supports many file types and documents can be edited. For example, you can edit eFax documents by adding or deleting text then saving them in a Word document.

eFax uses eFax Messenger software for sending and receiving electronic faxes. eFax Messenger software works with a PC with Windows XP operating system and Macintosh OS X operating system. But eFax Messenger software will not work on a Macintosh with an Intel microprocessor. eFax Messenger works on both computer platforms with at least 4 gigabytes of ram.
