How Much Does a T-Mobile Juicy Couture Sidekick II Cost?
The Juicy Couture Sidekick II phone is a limited-edition smartphone from T-Mobile. It is pink, with a sliding face and a fully functional keyboard. The Juicy Couture Sidekick II is no longer being produced and is not available for sale in T-Mobile phone stores--making it a rare find.

Used
-
Used Juicy Couture edition Sidekick II phones can be found in a number of places. Online outlets and auction sites offer the phone for between 90 and 150 dollars (as of 2010), depending on the level of use the phone has seen, and the requirements necessary to reactivate the phone. Independent mobile phone stores may also have the Couture at similar prices. Note that activating the phone can create additional costs.
New
-
Sidekick II Juicy Couture edition phones that are like new, or new insofar as they have not been opened, can also be purchased online or through third-party mobile phone stores (in many of the same places as the used ones). However these phones will need to be unlocked.

Activation
-
Any cellphone, including the Juicy Couture Sidekick II, needs to be activated on a wireless network in order to function. Activating a phone requires that it be unlocked, because an unlocked phone is free to work with any network. However, to be unlocked, the phone itself needs authorization in the form of an IMEI number and a connective device called a SIM card. These can add costs to the purchase of the device.
Unlocking
-
To unlock the Juicy Couture Sidekick II, contact T-Mobile customer service and ask for the phone's IMEI number. They will ask relevant questions about the phone and its previous ownership to determine the number which identifies the phone (like a license plate on a car). T-Mobile may also charge for this information, depending on the contract agreement originally made with the phone. Next make sure the phone has a SIM card. This card, which looks like a computer chip, will be housed near the battery in the back of the phone, and will connect the phone to the T-Mobile network. If there is no SIM card, one will need to be purchased from T-Mobile as well. Prices on these vary, but are usually free when a contract is entered with T-Mobile.
Warnings
-
Since the T-Mobile Juicy Couture Sidekick II phone can only be purchased independently of T-Mobile, you should be aware of the problems that sometimes come with buying such a phone. Make sure the phone is not stolen or restricted, making it unlockable, and therefore useless. Furthermore, unlocking any mobile phone and changing its wireless provider can affect how the phone will work, since different networks offer different services. When buying a used Juicy Couture phone, it might save money and time to buy one that has already been unlocked, and is ready to begin service.
