Products That Promote Cattle Hair Growth

Products That Promote Cattle Hair Growth thumbnail
Hair loss in cattle is common.

Hair loss in cattle is usually from external parasites. These parasites consist of mites, lice and ticks. All of these parasites infect cows and cause itching and skin irritation. Once an infestation of these parasites begins, the most visible sign is hair loss. Nonetheless, after a parasite infestation is contained, missing cattle hair has a hard time growing back, which can make cattle's appearance seem less healthy and more debilitating. Several types of products on the market encourage hair growth in cattle.

  1. Mega-Tek Rebuilder

    • Although Mega-Tek was originally formulated for use on horses, people, pets and other livestock benefit from its use. The formula promotes coat regrowth without harsh chemicals or synthetic materials. Not only does the Meg-Tek formula promote hair growth, but it conditioners remaining hair, making it stronger and more resilient.

    Shapley's MTG

    • Shapley's mane-tail-groom (MTG) formula is safe and effective for virtually any animal with hair. The formula heals hair loss from bug bites, fungus, dry skin and rain rot. The formula is also used to detangle and condition manes and tails. Results can be seen as fast as five days after the first application and should be applied once a week and should not be washed off in between applications.

    Ovation Cell Therapy

    • Like Mega-Tek Rebuilder and Shapley's MTG, Ovation Cell Therapy was originally formulated for use on horses and other livestock and has since expanded its line to humans. Nevertheless, Ovation products are suitable for use on animals with hair loss. The formulation consists of a key ingredient, panthenol, which is fundamental for all healthy hair. Ovation products not only encourage hair growth but they also condition existing hair as well.

    Mane 'N Tail

    • Mane 'N Tail shampoos, conditioners and herbal-growth formulas are conditioning products that provide more manageable hair on horses and cattle and also promote healthy growing hair.

    Cattle Impact

    • Cattle impact is a nutrient-based supplement for cattle that is used for show cattle to help improve overall appearance. However, with regular use, cattle see an overall improvement in appetite, as well as increased coat shine and accelerated hair growth that will consequentially benefit cattle with hair loss from parasite infestations.
