FedEx Corporation is a globally recognized logistics services company, headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. After observing customer need for faster deliveries, FedEx initiated the FedEx Priority service to cater primarily to the business needs of an organization.

  1. About FedEx

    • The FedEx Priority service is promoted as a “reliable, express solution to one's shipping needs,” promising the customer a maximum delivery time upon selecting the service. Features

    • The FedEx Priority service offers customers value-added services that include package tracking provided via the FedEx call center and on the Internet - this feature allows one to know the current status and location of the package to be delivered. Proof of delivery is another feature wherein FedEx informs the customer of a successful delivery, along with recipient information. FedEx also allows a simple booking process where customers can book a pick-up for delivery online or through the FedEx customer helpline. FedEx promises a refund of all charges to the customer if they fail to complete the delivery in the promised time frame.

    Benefits

    • Some of the benefits exclusive to the FedEx Priority service include quick and efficient deliveries, discounts on the basis of volume and ease in booking and delivery process. FedEx International Priority also includes fast and effective customs clearance without the hassles.

    Considerations

    • Customers are allowed to send any number of packages, provided they adhere to certain considerations including that each item can be of a maximum weight of 68 kilos (149.9 pounds), anything can be shipped as long as it is agreeable by the respective country laws and that customers can ship up to 9,999 different packages and up to 10 different items using the same international Air Waybill number.

    Specifications

    • FedEx has strict specifications when it comes to the maximum dimensions of packages to be eligible for the FedEx Priority service within the same country. Packages can be up to 274 cm in length (8.989 feet) or a maximum of 330 cm (10.8 feet) in length and girth combined (girth = 2 x height + 2 x width).
