Modern Hair Styles for Women
A hairstyle is one of the most changeable things about a woman's appearance. Perhaps that is why hairstyles cycle into and out of vogue faster than clothing styles. Even with the rapid change in hair fashion, some classic hair styles do stay in fashion perpetually, yet still seem fresh and modern. Here is a look at a few of these hairstyles. Does this Spark an idea?

The Bob
-
The bob is a short, usually jaw-length haircut that first came to prominence in the 1920s. Women flappers during that time cut their hair as a way of showing independence. In recent years, this look has experienced resurgence in popularity due to the ease with which shorter hair can be cared for. In 2007, Katie Holmes started this look back up when she cut her shoulder-length hair into a classic bob.
Updo
-
An updo is considered to be a complex hairstyle in which medium and long hair is braided, pinned or piled on top the head. Because of this, many updo hairstyles are saved for special occasions such as a wedding, prom or formal. An updo can be quite labor-intensive to fix, and some women will pay a stylist to fix their hair in this style.

Layered
-
Either long or short hair may be cut in layers. Stylists layer hair to give it more definition, texture or body. A person with thick hair may have her hair layered to lighten the weight of it, while a person with thin hair may have layers cut into it to add volume. Generally, layered haircuts are not difficult to maintain. A layered haircut is a versatile style that may be worn by all ages and lengths of hair.
