Keep stain sticks and spot removers on hand in case of accidents.

Gatorade is a delicious, hydrating drink that is loaded with electrolytes. Unfortunately, that's not all gatorade is loaded with. This drink contains high amounts of coloring, and spilling these brightly colored drinks on your clothes can be a real pain. Some of the colors, like red, can be difficult to remove from clothing. Make sure you have the right cleaners to get the stain out.

Step 2

Pretreat the area with a spot stain remover. If you're using a spray stain remover, saturate the affected area and allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Dab with a cloth.

Step 3

Pour some club soda on the stain if you do not have a spot stain remover. Leave this on for 15 minutes and then carefully dab the stain.

Step 4

Dab the stain with a dry cloth starting at the outside edges and moving inward. Blot as much of the stain out as you can.

Step 5

Rinse the garment. Mix together equal parts of hot water and ammonia and put it into a squirt bottle. Spray the stain. Cover the stain with a towel and iron over the towel. This will help to pull the stain out.

Step 6

Put the garment into the washer and wash with regular detergent.

Warning

Do not rub the stain. Rubbing can push the stain further into the fibers and make it worse. Make sure you don't use a product with bleach on colored clothes.
