Commemorate a graduation with a mini graduation cap craft.

A graduation is a milestone event in a person's life as it marks the successful completion of a stage of academics. Whether recognizing the graduation of preschool students or hosting a celebration to commemorate your teenager's graduation from high school, consider decorating with mini graduation caps for the event. These miniature caps are simple to construct and can serve as a graduation party favor. Make the craft a personalized keepsake by printing the year and name of the graduate on the top of the cap.

Step 1

Draw on the card stock a square with sides that measure 4 inches long. Cut out the square. (Alternatively, you can purchase a piece of card stock that is already cut into the shape of a square.) The square will serve as the top of the graduation cap.

Step 2

Use a ruler to measure a 3-inch long by 1-inch wide rectangular strip of card stock. Use a pencil to mark the rectangle, then cut it out. This piece will serve as the base of the cap.

Step 3

Bend the rectangular piece of card stock so that the ends meet, forming a circle. Secure the circle by gluing the two ends together. Set the circle aside to dry.

Step 4

Personalize the cap, if you desire. Use a fine-tipped marker to write the year of the graduation and the name of the graduate on the top of the cap.

Step 5

Attach the circular rim and the top of the cap. Line the rim of the circle with glue and press onto the center of the square top of the cap. The rim should be glued onto the underside of the top of the cap.

Step 6

Insert a craft brad into the center of the square piece of card stock, which now is the top of the cap. Prior to pressing the brad all the way through the paper, loop a tassel over it. Press the brad down into the card stock so that the brad is flush to the surface of the paper.

Tip

Make the cap in colors that match the graduate's school colors.
