You can create an Anakin Skywalker costume that screams the force is strong with you in just a few hours. Add a pair of brown straight-legged pants, a straight-collared white shirt, a wide brown belt and a pair of brown work boots to complete the outfit. Anakin's Outer Robe

Step 1

Create Anakin's Darth Vader-inspired robe out of a twin-sized polar fleece blanket. Determine your back length. Measure from the base of your neck to your ankle.

Step 2

Cut the polar fleece blanket to the proper length. Some polar fleece looks similar on each side, so the wrong side and right side may be hard to determine. Place the right sides together if there is a remarkable difference in the sides of the fabric, otherwise just fold the fabric in half width wise. Set the extra fabric aside.

Step 3

Create the shoulders of the cape. Draw an arch that extends from the folded edge of the blanket to the open edges. The top of the cape should look like a half circle. Cut a hood piece from the extra fabric. Fold the fabric in half so that it is the same width as the cloak piece. Cut a section of fabric that measures 24 inches in length. The cut piece should look like a semicircle.

Step 4

Open both fabric sections and lay them on a flat surface. Place the flat ends together and pin them in place.

Step 5

Sew the pieces together, working from the center outwards on each side. Use a 1/4-inch seam allowance.

Step 6

Turn the edges of the cloak over to create a 5/8-inch hem. Pin it in place and sew the hem on all sides.

Over Tunic

Step 1

Measure the width of your shoulders. Add 1 inch to this measurement.

Step 2

Cut the faux-leather fabric so that it is the same width as the measurement. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise to create a tunic-like garment. Make sure that the wrong sides are together. The garment should be the same width as your shoulders and the same length on each side. Place a pin in the center.

Step 3

Draw a deep V in the center of the garment at the fold line. This will be the front of the tunic.

Step 4

Turn the garment so that the back is facing upwards. Draw a half circle on the center to create the neck area. Make sure that the edges of this circle touch the top edges of the V on the front of the garment. Cut the V and half circle out.

Step 5

Hem the edges of the garment with a 5/8-inch hem.

Under Tunic and Boot Tops

Step 1

Mix the fabric dye according to the package directions.

Step 2

Dye the karate gi and leg warmers to create the inner tunic and the top boot sections. Allow the garments to soak in the dye for a few extra minutes for a deeper shade of brown.

Step 3

Wash the inner tunic and the boot tops before wearing.

Tip

Wear the brown tunic over a straight-collared white shirt and underneath the outer tunic and cloak.

Wear the top of the boots over brown trousers and work boots.
