Things You'll Need
London broil steak (flank steak)
1 1/2 cups red wine
4 tbsp. minced garlic
3 tbsp. ginger
1 tsp. parsley
1/2 tsp. oregano
1 bay leaf
Salt and pepper to taste
London broil is typically a beef flank steak. Because flank steak tends to be a tough cut of beef, London broil is best prepared after marinating. A flavorful marinade will infuse the meat with delicious taste. Soak the meat for a London broil in marinade to create a tender and tasty steak. Once the meat is marinated, it is a simple process to broil the London broil in the oven until done in the desired way.
Mix the wine, garlic, ginger, herbs and spices in a small bowl.
Place the meat in a ceramic dish and pour the marinade over the meat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 12 hours.
Preheat the broiler to 400 F and move the baking rack so the baking dish will be approximately 6 inches from the broiler.
Place the meat in the uncovered baking dish under the broiler. Brown the meat to your satisfaction.
Turn the meat over and spoon some marinade onto the top of the meat. Leave the meat under the broiler until it is cooked to your satisfaction.
Remove the baking dish from the oven. Slice the steak diagonally into 1-inch slices and serve the London broil immediately.
