Draw Nike Shoes

Drawing your own version of a popular shoe brand can be a great way to test out design ideas. You can use these drawings as part of an illustration or fashion portfolio. Using simple shapes to create a framework for the shoe can help you draw Nike shoes fairly simply. You can add your own personal touches to the shoes or strive to keep the shoes as close to the traditional look as possible. You can use the drawing as a template for other sneaker models. The principles in this article can be applied to almost any shoe drawing.

Step 1

The basic frame of the shoe.

Draw the basic frame of the shoe with a square shape for the heel section. Add a triangle to the right side of the square for the front of the foot.

Step 2

The frame with a few details.

Draw a curved line across the top of the square shape. Add the tongue of the shoe with a curved line to the top right section of the square guideline. Draw a vertical line at the point of the triangle to create the toe of the shoe.

Step 3

The frame with the classic check mark.

Create the Nike check shape with two swooping check lines, one on top of the other. Draw a rectangle across the top right of the shoe. Add the sole of the shoe with a band across the bottom of the shoe.

Step 4

The frame of the shoe with the laces drawn on.

Add laces with seven small rectangular shapes cross the top right of the shoe. Draw an "L" shaped band at the front of the shoe.

Step 5

An almost complete drawing of the shoe.

Draw the threading on the soul with 23 short dashes across the top of the sole. Draw a triangle at the upper left heel section of the shoe.

Step 6

Inking the drawing creates crisp lines.

Ink all of the lines that you wish to keep with a black pen. Let the ink dry and carefully erase the pencil lines.

Step 7

Color the Nike shoe to complete the drawing.

Color the drawing with art markers. Use complimentary colors to create an interesting effect. For instance, warm colors like red, yellow and orange can be paired with cool colors like blue, purple and green.

You can make a photocopy of the shoe in step 6 to try out different color schemes.

Be sure to let the ink dry before erasing the pencil lines or the drawing will smudge.
