Rosemary has been used for centuries as a culinary herb, and rosemary oil, extracted from the leaves of the rosemary plant, has also been used for hundreds of years as a remedy for many ailments. From use in hair care to the treatment of respiratory problems, rosemary oil is a popular treatment alternative. When using rosemary oil on the scalp or skin, it can be caustic at full strength. For this reason, it is necessary to dilute the oil with another base oil.
Things You'll Need
- Rosemary essential oil
- Olive or almond oil
Put one drop of rosemary oil in a glass bowl or container.
Add 15 drops of almond or olive oil.
Rub the oil mixture onto sore, aching muscles for fast relief. Rub directly onto scalp for relief from dandruff and to encourage hair growth. Rub into the temples for headache relief.
Put 10 drops of essential oil directly into a bathtub full of water. With the large amount of water to the small amount of oil, this is enough to dilute the oil for bath purposes. Adding rosemary oil to the bath not only helps relieve muscle and body aches, but it also promotes relaxation and clarity of the mind.
