Salted Caramel Rice Krispie Pops

Caramel and sea salt take good old Rice Krispie bars from good to great. Plus, who doesn't love a treat on a stick?

Things You'll Need

  • Caramel candies, 11-ounce package

  • 2 tablespoons cream or milk

  • Marshmallows, 10-ounce package

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

  • Lollipop sticks

  • Sea salt

Unwrap the caramel candies and place in a small saucepan.

Add 2 tablespoons of cream or milk and cook over low heat, stirring frequently until all the candies are melted and the caramel is smooth. Set aside.

Melt 3 tablespoons of butter together with 10 ounces of marshmallows. Cook over medium heat until smooth, stirring frequently.

Add 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal and stir to combine.

Pour caramel sauce over Krispies mixture, reserving about 1/4 cup. Stir gently to distribute the caramel sauce throughout the Krispies without mixing it in completely.

Pour Krispies mixture into a buttered 9 x 13-inch pan and press lightly. Allow to cool, then use a biscuit cutter or cookie cutter to cut circles.

Tip

To avoid waste, warm the Krispie scraps in the microwave and press them together. Cut more circles from the reformed scraps.

Press a lollipop stick into each Krispie circle.

Place the Krispie pops on a cooling rack set over a sheet of parchment paper. Drizzle caramel sauce over each pop.

Sprinkle sea salt onto the warm caramel sauce.
