Alphabet beads are a creative and easy way to personalize jewelry, and they come in many styles, from white plastic cubes to elegant silver drops. Additionally, they are fairly easy to find and can be bought individually for special projects in real sterling silver or in bulk bags for making a large volume of individualized pieces.

    Discount Stores

  1. Your local big-box discount store will usually carry a small supply of general craft making items, and if you're looking for plastic alphabet beads check with them. Generally, you can buy a good-sized bag of beads for just a few dollars.
  2. Hobby and Craft Stores

  3. Hobby and craft stores will almost always have a larger selection of alphabet beads to choose from, and you can get some of the harder-to-find beads for a reasonable price. Plus, you can probably find all the other supplies you need at the same time.
  4. Online

  5. If you're looking for specialty alphabet beads, online is the way to go. Any search engine can direct you to a ton of online bead stores, and if you type in exactly what you're looking for (for example, glass "j" alphabet bead) you'll have more luck. This can get pretty expensive though, so be sure to shop around for the best deals.
  6. Wholesalers

  7. If you're looking for beads in bulk, bead and craft supply wholesalers can be found online, but you may have to order by phone or through one of your local craft stores that partners with them. However, this is a cheaper way to buy a lot of beads for bigger projects.
