Message in a Bottle Gift Ideas

If you are looking for a unique gift to give a friend or family member, you will want to consider a message in a bottle. There are plenty of things you can place inside the bottle as a gift. All you need to do is find a colorful bottle and insert the gift. You can then decorate it with a bow or wrap it up with some wrapping paper.

Poem

Poems are a great gift to give for any occasion, but especially on anniversaries. Purchase a piece of parchment paper and write out a poem that tells the receiver how you feel about her. The poem doesn't have to rhyme, it just has to be from the heart. When you are done, roll up the parchment paper and tie it with a piece of ribbon. Pour a little bit of sand in the bottom of the bottle so that it looks like it just washed up from the shore. You can also add some small shells or stones. Slide the poem in the bottle. Place the cap back on the bottle and then decorate the bottle or wrap it up.

Gift Certificate

Gift cards will not fit inside of a bottle, but gift certificates will. You can roll a gift certificate up and tie it with a nice piece of ribbon. Throw a little confetti in the bottom of the bottle and then slide the gift certificate in. Close the bottle by placing the bottle cap back on and then wrap up your bottle.

Personal Coupon

If you don't have a whole lot of money, consider what gifts you have to offer someone. Are you good at giving back massages? Do you make a mean pot roast? Can you sing beautifully? Whatever you are good at can be given as a gift in the form of a coupon. On a piece of parchment paper, write "This coupon is good for one 60-minute back massage." The saying should be for whatever you can offer as a gift. For fun write an expiration date that will never happen in the person's lifetime such as November 10th, 3050. Decorate the coupon with ribbons, stickers, or whatever you have on hand. Roll it up and slide it in the bottle.

Note: This is also a good option for children. They can make up coupons that say, "Good for one hug and kiss," or "Good for One Clean Kitchen."
