If you have a green thumb, you probably have a knack for propagating plants in order to create more plants from one single plant source. This can allow you to decorate your home and yard inexpensively. It also can provide you with very inexpensive tools to start your own home-based business. Selling plants and flowers is one way some people have found to provide an extra source of income for their households. If you have a desire to earn more income with your hobby, there are a few ways you can go about doing so.

    Sell at Yard Sales

  1. If you grow your own plants and flowers, you can sell your seedlings or plants at a yard sale. You can have a traditional yard sale, selling household items, and adding your plants to the sale. Alternately, you can have a "plants only" yard sale, selling your plants in simple containers such as styrofoam cups, soup cans, coffee cans and so on.
  2. Open Your Own Mini-Nursery

  3. If your seedling inventory is expansive enough, consider opening a small business space from which to sell your plants. Because of office space, however, this method will yield the lowest amount of profit.
  4. Sell at Online Auctions

  5. You also can sell plants and flowers online, at online auctions. EBay, for instance, helps provide small business owners with the tools to reach an audience of millions with minimal effort. To do this, set up a seller's account at eBay (see link below for free registration), and start selling your seeds, seedlings, plants and flowers.
