A drum kit is a collection of drums, cymbals and stands organized in an easy to play pattern for the person using them. The early forms of drum kits were comprised almost solely of high hat cymbals, a kick drum and a snare. Today drum kits are usually much larger and use one if not several toms and other percussive instruments attached to them. In the 1980's electronic drum kits were thrown into the mix which have all the same sounds as a regular acoustic kit but offer more creativity and exploration with different sounds that can be programmed into the drums themselves. For example you can set the snare to sound very deep, very high or even nothing like a snare at all.
In this free video clip series you will learn the proper way to identify, assemble and transport you drum kit as well as tips and techniques on how to take care of your kit so it will last as long as you do. There are many different pieces to a full drum kit and our expert will walk you through the break down of each one and why it works the way that it does.
