The leg muscles connect the bones of the human leg which are the femur, the patella, the tibia and the fibula. These muscles help you walk, run, sit and stand. Keeping the leg muscles active and toned is important for everyday flexibility. Leg muscle exercises are especially important for professional athletes such as competitive cycler, weightlifters, track competitors and swimmers. Exercising the leg muscles can be done with weights, bends, stretches and flexes.

In this series of videos, get great ideas for new leg exercises. Our expert fitness instructor demonstrates different leg strengthening activities. Learn basic leg lifts and knee bends and then try jump squats and power lunges to work those muscles even harder. Use weights and work the leg muscles by doing dead lifts. Our experts can teach you how to do a lunge safely. Try this and then add a glute squeeze and knee lift to make the leg muscles really work hard. Watch as our experts do leg squats with leg abductions for the benefit of building muscle in their legs. Be sure to stretch and watch our expert’s introduction to leg exercises before tackling these moves, then exercise your legs!
