Hello. I'm Jeff at Light in Shining Armor Studio, Tampa Bay's Yoga Instructor of the Year, 2010, and we're going to talk about yoga for eye problems today. You can actually get rid of wearing glasses if you do these exercises on a regular basis. They're very, very simple. You don't think about exercising your eyes, well at least I don't think about exercising my eyes very much. We exercise other parts of the body but we want to do some very easy basic eye exercises. So imagine that you have a clock in front of your face. You're going to look up at 12 and then at each of the five minute increments. So, you look up at 12, 1, 2, 3, etc. all the way around the clock. Do three times on each side. So, once you do it counterclockwise, you're going to do it clockwise. Let me demonstrate. You look up at 12, 1, 2, 3, really stretching the eyes, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and then you'd repeat three times and then we would do the opposite direction. So we would do 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Notice that I'm not turning my head. I'm only using my eyes. After you do three to four rotations on each side or in each direction, bring the palms of the hands together, rub them as fast as you can. You want to create or generate heat in the palms of your hand and then once they're nice and warm you're going to put the palms of the hands over the eyes and you'll feel the warmth soaking into the eye sockets. This can also help if you have a tension headache or your eyes are tired. Another exercise for the eyes is just looking left and right, exaggerated left then right, left, right, left, right, nine to ten times. After that exercise, same thing, rub the hands together, bring the warm palms to the sockets of the hands and the third one is you want to look up to the left, down to the right, up to the left, down to the right. We're doing that again five, six times and then you're going to switch up to the left, up to the right, down to the left, up to the right, down to the left and again once you've completed that round of eye exercises, rub your hands together, place the warm palms on the eye sockets and feel the warmth soaking into the eyes.
