Hi, I'm Jeff at Light In Shining Armor Studio, Tampa Bay's Best Of The Bay Yoga Instructor of 2010, and today we're going to talk about Yoga for nasal cleansing. So, you may not think about the breath for Yoga for nasal cleansing, but one way to alleviate nasal congestion or to clean the nasal passages would be through the Yoga breath. And today, we're going to talk about stomach pumping. It's not the Warrior Breath or Breath of Fire; this is a different one that's normally called Kalabati, but I just call it stomach pumping. And I'll demonstrate; what we're going to do is you're going to inhale and as we inhale, you push your stomach out and you're going to exhale by pulling the stomach into the spine like you're trying to bring the belly button to the spine. And we're going to do that several times; 10, 20, 30 times and after the 30, the thirtieth round, you're going to hold the breath or retain the breath. And if you pump the stomach for 10 times, you hold the breath for 10 seconds. You pump the stomach for 20 times, you hold the breath for 10 seconds. As in any type of breathing in Yoga, if you are light-headed or you get dizzy, you stop what you're doing and breath normally. Lie down if necessary. So, let me demonstrate what that looks like. "Hhh", "Hhh", "Hhh", "Hhh", "Hhh", "Hhh", "Hhh", "Hhh", "Hhh", "Hmmmm", and then say that was twenty seconds and then you're going to gently release the breath and do three to four to six rounds. Like in anything, the more you do it, the more the symptoms will alleviate themselves. But, start, start small and build up; five or 10 rounds. You don't want to start out with 50 or 60. You want to start out small, build up to get the full benefit overtime. I'm Jeff at Light In Shining Armor Studio, Best Of The Bay Yoga Instructor for Tampa Bay 2010. That was a breathing exercise to help alleviate nasal cleansing through Yoga. Thank you.
