Hi, my name is Bob Linde. I'm an acupuncture physician and registered herbalist. Today, I'm going to talk to you about holistic and herbal medicines, and of course that's a huge range of different things that can be incorporated into holistic and herbal medicines. There's herbal medicine traditions throughout the world. China alone has over 10,000 herbs in their herbal pharmacy, all of which can be utilized in combinations based on a specific diagnosis that can be helpful for a variety of ailments, and has been the primary medicine for thousands of years in China. In reality, even in today's medicine, actually 75 percent of the world's population still uses traditional medicines because they have no access to MDs. We're lucky here in the United States because we do have access to the medical profession. So, we can utilize herbal medicines in the same way that 75 percent of the world utilizes them, just like they have in Africa, Asia, Europe, Central and South America, all with unique traditions and unique herbs and holistic practitioning. So, if you're going to utilize herbs for your health care problems, make sure that you find a qualified health care practitioner, an herbalist, acupuncturist, naturopath or other herbal specialist who can best prescribe the right combination of herbs for you. But, ultimately for thousands of years, the herbalist's favorite thing to utilize is a cup of tea. It can be anything from a simple cup of Green or Black Tea to a combination of different leaves or flowers that may be prescribed for your particular ailment. So, enjoy your cup of tea every day, find out what's the best herbal combination for your particular situation, and please enjoy your herbs.
