My name is Dwan Kelsey, and I'm a nurse practitioner with wellLIFE, a diabetes clinic and Educational Resource Center located in Raleigh, North Carolina. And we will be discussing healthy dinner menus. For some tips that I tell people about how to eat healthy. One, is just write down the things that you like, write down the things that you're already eating. And or that is an already typical dinner for you and your family. And from that, we differ template. So from that, we can actually say, okay, you're already eating salmon, you're already eating chicken. But instead of frying it, can we bake it? So, get with what you're already eating. If you're already eating white rice, switch to brown rice. If you're already eating vegetables, learn how to steam them, instead of cooking them all the way down to decrease the nutrient value of them. So, there's a lot of ways that you can start. So, we start with creating a meal for what patients are already doing. Another way, is that there's a site called OneHealthyMealPlan.com. And it's one, the number one, HealthyMealPlan.com. That actually gives patients or gives clients the ability to create a healthy meal plan for themselves and for their families. So, it comes with breakfast, it comes with the lunch, it comes with the dinner menus. That you can actually piece together. So, patients will be able to create the appropriate meal. I think, cooking unhealthy can be more time consuming than cooking healthy. Because when we cook healthy, we don't cook vegetables all the way down. We steam them, ten minutes, the vegetables are done. It doesn't take long to grill chicken, we have a lot of resources to grill chicken. The George Foreman grill, the grill outside, the on, you know, the top of the stove grill. So, there's a lot of resources that we have available, now. To make cooking be a lot easier for patients. And I would just say, to take advantage of those resources that, that we have. That was basic information, make sure to consult with your health care provider.
