Hi, my name is Joann Carlos, at Hair Perfect Salon here in West Covina, California. I'm here today to show you how to restore damaged hair. The first thing, recommended way is cut it off. That is a little extreme and a lot of people don't want to go to that extreme so we do have a few other solutions to help aid in the process. First is washing the hair using cold water or luke warm water. Heat just makes it even worse. You don't want to use hot water on damaged hair. If you rinse with cold water it's going to seal the cuticle so that's important to keep the moisture in. Also you want to do a deep conditioning probably once a week for 15 to 30 minutes. You're going to use the shampoo. I use Joico K Pak Reconstruction Shampoo and also the conditioner. Once you put the conditioner on, you leave it on for 15 to 30 minutes, you sit under the dryer, low heat for 15 to 30 minutes and then you rinse it out with cool water. Also if you have oily hair and you don't want to wash it all the time because washing it more than once or twice a week is also bad for you, you want to get a dry shampoo to get the oil and grease look out. This is Joann Carlos at Hair Perfect Salon in West Covina, and this is how you restore damaged hair.
