Hi, I'm Hilary Talbott, acupuncture physician and clinical herbalist. Today, we will be discussing acupressure points for earache. Now, earaches, especially in children, can be quite debilitating. So, I'm going to show you this simple set of points that you can do on the hand to help alleviate some of the symptoms associated with an earache. It's important to treat the underlying condition especially if it's an infection of the earache though. So, this point called triple burner two is located between the fifth and the fourth digits of the hand, right in this hollow space here. Triple burner three is right on the other side of the knuckle here. So, what I do is oftentimes make a loose fist, and then I pinch the two points together. And this works because the triple burner channel flows through the ear cavity opening up the Eustachian tubes. So, this is something that really can't be overdone, and it's not really even that annoying. It's quite comforting, especially when it starts to take the pain away. If earaches are chronic or severe, I encourage you to seek out your local acupuncture physician to put a stop to them. It can easily be done by a couple of acupuncture treatments and some herbal therapy. I'm Hilary Talbott, and that was acupressure for earaches.
